A father has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 5-year-old daughter by throwing her into a fire.  Pavel Makarchuk, 50, allegedly hit his daughter Darina, causing her to fall to the floor and hit her head. He then allegedly decided to hide his crime by chopping the girl's body and burning her in the oven, police in Ukraine said. Regional police commander in Zhytomyr, Artem Lisogor, said: "The father pushed or hit the girl. The child fell down and crashed her head against the threshold. The girl passed out and did not recover. The father decided to hide this crime, so the child was put inside the stove and burned.''  Makarchuk’s wife, 41, has also been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.  A murder investigation has now been launched, nine months after the girl was killed. The schoolgirl suffered from Rapunzel syndrome - where sufferers become addicted to chewing and ingesting their own hair. Collecting in her stomach for a decade, the undigested hair, weight half a kilo, gathered into a hard mass. The Russian girl was rushed for emergency surgery on the hair ball in the Siberian city of Tomsk. Medics said 80% of the girl’s stomach was filled with the giant hair ball in a major threat to her health. Her gastrointestinal tract was in danger of being totally blocked, said doctor-in-chief Andrey Karavaev. Surgery was “urgent” at Emergency Medicine Clinic Number Two in Tomsk, according to reports. The teenager is recovering after surgery and “feels much better”. It was only the second Rapunzel syndrome case in 25 years in the region, according to reports. Doctors said the girl - who was not named - may now require psychiatric care.

A father who spent 12 years forcing his children to have sex with him, his wife, ex-wife and the family dog has been sentenced to 341 years in jail. Christopher Sena, 52, was sentenced on Tuesday after he sexually abused eight immediate family members and close relatives, then filmed the abuse. Sena, of Las Vegas, made his victims, who were both male and female, have sex with him, their mother and stepmother while being filmed. Sena was convicted of 95 sex crimes. The abuse which went on for over a decade was finally uncovered in September 2014 during a SWAT raid at Sena’s trailer in Nellis Air Force Base. Officials obtained video footage of the sex attacks. While Sena was handed 60 life terms on Tuesday, Sena's estranged wife Deborah Sena, 53, and his first ex-wife Terrie Sena, 48, were handed life sentences before Tuesday’s hearing. Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has suffered a terrible loss as his father passed on late last night. Prince Hakeem Adeyemi Kosoko, the Permanent Secretary of Education District 4, died during the night after suffering an undisclosed ailment.                                  Mr Kosoko was flown abroad due to the ailment and his position had to be temporarily filled by a replacement for over a month. He recently returned to Nigeria to recover, a source told LIB. Sadly, he passed on hours ago. A teacher who works under Mr Kosoko's district in Lagos revealed to LIB that his death was announced to the teachers in Education District 4 this morning. The cause of death has not been revealed. He is survived by his wife, children, including Adekunle Gold, and more family members.

The Lagos zonal office of EFCC have arrested the proprietor of a ''Yahoo Yahoo'' training school in Lagos, Frank Chinedu. Chinedu, 22, was arrested alongside eight students of the unnamed training centre located at 14, Animashaun Street, Progressive Estate, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, while receiving lectures in internet fraud activities. The students are: Ahmed Musa, 24; Desmond Eze, 29; Preye Kingsley, 23; Benjamin Irabor, 21; Benjamin Opah, 19; Akapo Prosper, 22; Innocent Paul, 20 and Olamide Edun, 20. The suspected internet fraudsters were arrested under cover on May 22, 2019, following intelligence reports received by the Commission about their involvement in alleged criminal activities. Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include nine laptops, 16 mobile phones, an Airtel modem, Orange Wifi and one Toyota Camry with registration number EPE406FN. The suspects will soon be charged to court.
